Kanker Serviks apakah itu ?

Kanker serviks atau bisa disebut juga dengan kanker leher rahim adalah tumbuhnya sel-sel tidak normal pada serviks (leher rahim). Perubahan menjadi sel kanker memakan waktu 10 hingga 15 tahun. Selain itu vaksinasi juga dapayt memberikan perlindungan silan terhadap infeksi HPV lainnya penyebab kanker yakni tipe 45, 31 dan 52.

Vaksinasi sebaiknya dilakukan sedini mungkin. Rekomendasi IDAI (Ikatan Dokter Anak Indonesia dan HOGI (Himpunan Onkologi Genekologi Indonesia) vaksinasi dapat diberikan pada remaja putri mulai usia 10 tahun. Menunda pemberian vaksinasi berarti menempatkan diri pada resiko terkena infeksi dan menunda kesempatan perlindungan yang dapat diberikan oleh vaksin. Setiap perempuan beresiko terkena Infeksi HPV tanpa memandang usia. Vaksinasi dilakukan dalam 3 tahapan dosis pemberian yakni bulan ke-0, 1 dan 6. Contohnya, vaksin pertama pada bulan Januari, vaksin ketiga pada bulan Februari dan vaksin ketiga pada bulan Juli. Efek pemberian vaksin yang timbul adalah nyeri di daerah sekitar tempat penyuntikan.
